You helped release the valve, which stopped me, from being me – the regular ol’ me. You were the key for me to become happy again. Your smile, your support, your affection, your love.
You held my hand 2 years ago, in the throws of my horrific accident. My body was virtually dead. Dead inside and out, it didn’t reply to the stimulations of the world. In hindsight, I wanted to be ‘dead’.
No one could penetrate my thick armor. It had been built by the registration of disappointments and heartaches.
But then you arrived.
I had no resistance.
I could not resist you.
You made sure you opened the door.
My heart beat again.
