We first got to know Alex The Astronaut 2 years ago for the first time, and we remember the Aussie bedroom-pop extraordinaire quickly won hearts and fans all over. With wispy, journal like entries of song and humanistic candor in her lyrics, the frightfully charming strokes of keys and notes, just makes you want to say ‘oh well’ and love the world you’re at.
‘I Think You’re Great’ is another variant of that song writing, and Alex makes it quite a festival.
Working out the kinks and confusions of love, in the new music video, the jangly outtakes and benevolence of magical delights, dance along the edges of relationship-wary frustrations and manic urgencies. Not knowing what is happening in a couples journey, we sometimes can smile, in that half-smile, to take the frustration of love, deep and meaningfully. Sometimes, that’s all that we can do in that situation.
Alex The Astronaut is Alex Lynn and she has embroidered her style further and keeps on chugging for happiness and universally resonating vision of contentment.
What we all deserve, no?
Alex will appear @ SXSW, followed by dates with label mates Didirri and Jack River in Los Angeles (March 24th @ The Bootleg), Brooklyn (March 26th @ Baby’s All Right), and Toronto (March 27th @ The Drake).
