Cimo’s time of beautiful vocals, beautiful instrumentals, and lyrics of pop affection always culminate in a mahogany like quiver. Off of the invigorating pop pallet of his latest self-titled album (out now), delivers all of the goodness you’d always want from such endeavors. The album is chock full of the greatest of decadence, including songs like ‘Where Do You Hide Your Love’, ‘World is waking Up’, and of course ‘Happier Before’.
Growing up in Amsterdam, Cimo’s father was a funk musician and raised him on a diet of impromptu studio visits and the DIY ethos of funk culture. At the tender age of 15, Cimo started experimenting with music production. Amiable and cheery, he soon got involved with likeminded characters and started to work intensively with other young, eager musicians.
After winning multiple local songwriter awards in The Netherlands, started collaborating with a slew of dance producers around the Globe. In 2016, Los Angeles rapidly becoming a familiar place to him, Cimo got into contact with Cheat Codes and Kris Kross Amsterdam and co-produced and co-wrote his biggest hit yet: ‘Sex’, gathering over 650 million streams. Going Gold in the USA, double Platinum in the UK, quadruple Platinum in the Netherlands, gathering 7 more Platinum awards in other countries, and winning another National Buma Award, it’s safe to say this song was a global hit.
Love for his music, will be automatic, as his fabulous craft of song and story telling hits the most private of your thoughts.
The album is out now.
