Back in February 2018, we’d reviewed their awesome single ‘2 Down 2 Dance’, and we were enamored with the powerful statement and representation of their presentation. The grunge-like golden eminence was like where “…the stories and narration from their songs protrude out like the thorns from the deadliest of beautiful Roses. Can’t look away, but the pain in the cut skin, is real and the blood keeps on pouring out.”
And this excellence in uniqueness is true with their latest song ‘Showgirl’. And this time, it is our SONG OF THE DAY!
The UK band is such a good combination of malevolent accessory to ‘murder’ and the chic attitude of a sexy cat-burglar, that we don’t know what to do with this musical info overload.
The vocals of lead singer Asha Lorenz is decade traversing and timeless. On top of that, listen to the chorus, and that is exactly what the ‘forbidden’ is, and should be.
At the end of the day, ‘Showgirl’ seems to be about empowerment and the advice of not doubting what you are, and what you can be. Each minute is a chance to change, evolve, improve, and take charge. It’s an poignant and soluble suggestion to a very human problem.
This single comes from yet another 7” with ‘Showgirl being the A side and the yet-to-be-released single ‘Twinkle’ being the B side.
