Dynamic and wanting, the beautifully found rhythms of life, lives within the emotionally tantalizing vocals of Stéfon Charlot’s, ‘Heretic’.
“‘Heretic’ is in essence a prayer to return to oneself,” stated Stéfon Charlot. “The record was written as I was seeing the world around me turn into something I couldn’t quite grasp or understand. Heretic is a reflection on my younger self and all the times my life was put in danger trying to assimilate to others ideals and for the praise of my peers. A reflection on all the times I disavowed myself and made my self small only to be left among wolves.”
Sonic beauty, in black, revealing all that is hard and challenging… putting it all on the line. A promise to be told.
A summary of such vibrance is where Stéfon’s work in ‘Heretic’ shines.
Cogent and clear, every word and expression, really tickles your senses for that other dimensional vision, that’s so obviously true in this case.
An experimental hip-hop/electronic production it consumes you, as the journey through “denial, pain, reformation, and reintegration” still tingle like reminders of a way forward.
