Sumie’s “Leave me” is a song of declaration and personal flight; gentle and weeping, a silent cause for person inspiration and evolution.
Well at least that’s what we read into this wispy and porcelain execution by Sumie. The mental images just puts our hearts into overdrive and imaginations run quite like a 5K run.
Sandra Sumie Nagano comes to us bearing songwriting gifts from Gothenburg Sweden (where incidentally many of our admired songwriters and performers come from). Her style is of folk influence, but as all songwriters who are in their class of their own, it’s always about the lyrics and bearing of his/her personal experiences – deep and wide.
Honesty is always a major ingredient in songwriting and in folk style song writing, it’s one of the most important. And Sumie puts her sprinkling of sticky notes all over her songwriting, and then some.
She’s carries and distributed by Bella Union, a label we respect. And it’s a label where we’ve already featured Susanne Sundfør in our Instagram account several weeks ago.
Sumie’s been in the game for a long time, and we guarantee she’ll be producing many works we can enjoy, far into the future.
