Quite a crew, the indie-pop trio TANGERINE showed off its brand new and shiny music video for ‘Cherry Red’, just before the official release of their ‘White Dove’ EP October 19th.
The Seattle gang is made up of Korean-American sisters Marika and Miro Justad, with Tobias Kuhn.
“The opening lines – ‘we used to wait for the info, in your car drinking bright day glo’ are about driving around North Seattle in my friend Annie’s red Ford Echo in early high school,” lead singer Marika explains. “The band all recently watched Lost Boys, the 1980s vampire movie set in a small California seaside town, and the aesthetics of that really spoke to us so we drew on that a little bit as well. We directed the video ourselves and took turns shooting it on Miro’s iPhone 8 with help from her boyfriend Richie Owen.”
What’s up withe the Vampire movies of past and in current that has such grip on imaginations?
Anywho, the talented trio, makes their mark as they look around and like, they’re set to be everywhere at once, with their dream-bedroom pop that is tinged 80’s rock undertones – all colorful, like.
No pastel here. Just black and ripped hearts.
The trio in fact have been making music together since childhood, and in 2017, they set out to conquer the city of Angels, with their hypnotic styles.
We think they’re more than on their way.
