‘Wave’ is this crystal clear and blue as can be, vibes of love and the lush haze of it all. Nothing feels like love and when love becomes permanent, all of the good and the bad, just doesn’t matter any longer.
Elaborated TAYLOR DUKES: “‘Wave’ is an ode to the ocean that somehow morphed into a song about loving someone for their dark spaces and mystery as much as their beauty and light. I wrote this song with my husband in his home country of New Zealand – we decided right away it was pretty special to both of us. I think it’s important to love someone for their secrets and their call homes, their failures, highlights and everything in between.”
Taylor’s vocals is a thing of beauty, as it defines with a pinpoint sweep of story telling acumen, and virtuoso-like expressions.
The soul singer/songwriter from Nashville creates thoughtful melodies, and has authentic vocal calculations that redefines what pop song could be. Like the crackling goodness of artists like Eva Cassidy, Lianne La Havas and Amy Winehouse, Taylor brings it to full-bare within her songs, and then some.
Like a raindrop of clarity, within a cinematic storm of chaos, Taylor’s soaring understatement and control, depletes our sorrows and give new fervent life back to our day-to-day.
This beautifully pop and operatic pop was produced by Ivan LaFever with real samples of the ocean to take the listener to a place that they can really visualize.
