The Collier ‘DRY’ : Relives the angst and trepidations of unforeseen revivals.

The Collier

Starting the year opening for The Amazons, touring the UK and performing at festivals such as Live at Leeds and All Points East – 2019 has proved to be a big year for The Collier.

About their single ‘Dry’: Joshua Hixson explained: “With the lyrics I never really planned to say anything I just wrote them all down in a frenzy and normally later it applies itself. I’m talking about paranoia and how I perceived myself in the world, I was in a dark place and you can hear that in the lyrics. When you have no where else to vent you put it into your lyrics and because people don’t ask you directly the lyrics are the best way to put across how you feel…”

The menagerie of thoughts and suggestions comes flowing like the rivers of the forest, spilling then washing your sins away. ‘Dry’ relives the angst and trepidations of unforeseen revivals, and unconstitutional personal fervors.

A deliberate massing of ideas, the song drives into that darkened pathway of uncertainty.

The Collier is: Joshua Hixson (lead vocals and rhythm guitar), Ellis Davis (lead guitar), Shaun Bowie (bass) and George Rutherford (Drums). The Collier draws influence from leading alt-rock figures from The National to Radiohead, and Biffy Clyro.
