The Slow Readers Club Share New Single ‘You Opened Up My Heart’.

The Manchester England quartet The Slow Readers Club shared with us their new single ‘You Opened Up My Heart’ off of their upcoming album ‘Build A Tower’.

“You Opened Up My Heart is a hopeful song for uncertain times”, says singer Aaron Starkie.

“A lot of our songs are existential and angst ridden but in an age where we’re faced with stuff like Trump and Brexit, and people are becoming more polarised, it felt right to offer something with a more positive message. It’s about a basic belief that humanity and compassion will win the day, wrapped in an indie-pop love song”.

With driving percussions and minimalistic lyrics, the effort in the song is indicative of the band. Tackling current affair issues in the most scintillating escalation as possible, ‘You Opened Up My Heart’ presents the perils and the possible irony of how we’d come to this juncture.

Haunting vocals and mix of glittering elements, make the song a perfect anthemic bullet to your day to day life.

The Slow Readers Club consists of: Aaron Starkie, Kurtis Starkie, James Ryan and David Whitworth.

They’re rep’ed by Modern Sky.
