Thea & The Wild’s continued upward scaling in the world of indie music has been consistent and a sight to see for us at CHF. And through her upcoming new album ‘IKAROS’ (due out February 2, 2018), we’re excited that more will get the taste of what Thea is all about.
We’re sure Thea’s excited, and at CHF, WE ARE excited for her as well.
Our first real exposure to the band was in October of 2017, through her song ‘Pave The way’. We’d stated that: “Her transformation from ‘pop-ish-pop’ to the now awesome ‘indie-pop-get-out-of-my-way’ ensemble is what we love about Thea.”
What that meant for us, at the time, was that her strength of increased evolution in her music and song writing was accelerating. And we whole-heatedly agreed with Thea’s direction and fortitude, because one of her core strengths was of her convictions towards the morphing and contributing different methods of conversation in her pieces.
‘When A Kiss Becomes A Habit’ continues that trend, to great effect. It still brings the oddly unique vocals of Thea, to the sensibilities of the supporting musical pillars. Her voice is, as you will experience, is not powerful in the traditional sense, but it brings with it the emotions that a palatable singer should. It’s a different KIND of ‘power’ and ‘method of story telling’.
And it’s good stuff.
It’s a ‘Bait & Switch’ – of the Fabulous Kind.
Thea’s song’s are a treat (and we’re not alone in that kind of statement). They traverse the pop Universe with big Texas swaths of indie music attitudes, which we are all fans of.
Anywho, she’s fab and looking forward to many more accolades and news from her.
Thea & The Wild is Thea Glenton Raknes, originating from Oslo, Norway.
