THOUSAND YARD STARE ‘SCHISM ALGORITHM’ : Expertise and poignant construction.

Thousand Yard Stare

Thousand Yard Stare announce the release of a new single, ‘Schism Algorithm’, on 7th February 2020 via Stifled Aardvark Records. Recorded at Raffer studios with Callum Rafferty, the track is the second to be lifted from their upcoming album ‘The Panglossian Momentum’ (May 29th).

Stephen Barnes said: “Our increased reliance on the digital sphere to shape our beliefs has invited opportunity for those with the power to harness it. The powers that be have always been master-peddlers of deceptions, and those with the means and motives to create de- facto truths from fabrication do so with increasing impunity and anonymity. This song is about putting this ‘ghost in the machine’ in the confession box”.

The band – originally active from 1989 until 1993 – reformed in 2015 for a triumphant and rapturous one-off show in London, reviving a passion that had lain dormant for over two decades. The band continued their sojourn, gaining plaudits and a growing new audience for their energetic and inclusive live performances, with further headline tours, appearances at Shiiine On Weekender, Indie Daze, PennFest and Gigantic, an annual London residency and tour supports with the likes of House Of Love.

The shine of expertise and poignant construction of song is apparent as you’d listen. It’s natural and given the band’s history, they just know how to rock.

It’s time for TYS to shine again. The market is ripe for this kind of excitement.

Stephen Barnes, Dominic Bostock, Giles Duffy, Sean McDonough and Kevin Moxon makes this engine go.
