Watch female tick lay 1,500 eggs. Sir Attenborough makes it fabulous, as usual.

The pesky and many times dangerous, Tick, has been around since the Cretaceous period (which started 145 million years ago and ended 66 million years ago). They survived, nay, thrived on earth, adapting to different environments and ecosystems, attaching their little teeth to many animals along the way.

They live to suck blood from animals (including humans), and producing hundreds of young, with the hope of a good percentage of them surviving to adulthood.

They’re not evil. They’re just biological animals which are born to with one mission: to pass on their genes to the next generation.

But they are ‘bugs’ and they fascinate many of us. So, here’s a clip that shows that ‘mother, children’ moment of a tick.
