In today’s statement and answer to Congress, CDC’s Director Redfield highlighted that face masks are as or more important to protect the public from Covid19.
“These face masks are the important, powerful public health tool we have … I might even go so far as to say that this face mask is more guaranteed to protect me against COVID than when I take a COVID vaccine.”

With a total current infections from Covid19 at 6.6 Million & 196,000 deaths, in the United States, the big and contentious subject of whether to wear or not to wear a qualified mask to block the spread of Covid19 roils on as the CDC take a 360 turn on the effectiveness of masks.
Discussions about the effectiveness of preventative tools like masks, isolation, track & trace, and social distancing has been continuing, the last 6 months. A reasonable list of methods to beating an air born virus, that should have been a consensus, a long time ago.
The back and forth – and confusion – continues.
