Ghost Stories by Used Cassettes is a year old single, but just feels current and now. The dynamics between the raking guitar chords and the vocals reminds us of the retro-years of Radiohead. It’s a weird feeling, for it give us a warm futon in our hearts and the “just enough” kick-butt-ness that we like.
“Is it real?”
We don’t know. And we don’t care, right? This world by Used Cassettes is endemic in our cerebral cortex-like immediate-ness and certitude. Actual attitude, and the song’s clarity (within its blurriness) is the cream on the top of that freaking ice-sundae.
The cherry on that ice-sundae is missing however. Your cousin took that and ate it. She does that to spite. She just loved the song and wanted it in her tummy.
