As her hand reaches out of the watering well, a spring of hope, sparkled through the sunlit field, slowed down by the collage making of a heart which was looking for a way out. But the first steps to escape was first, inward. And in that darkness of impending heart-ache, you touch that hand that is present in front of you – out that watering well, soft and alluring.
Florida based indie-folk singer/songwriter VESPER WOOD is the solo project of Christina Wood. Her solo debut album ‘Instar’ is due to drop on March 1st, and her new single ‘Descend’ comes at us with all of the vestiges of a trunk full of emotions and feelz. As 1/2 of the band KALEIDA, ‘Instar’ will be Christina’s first solo foray.
Expressive and gray-toned, the counter-intuitive single invites us to nag at the notions of participation in this world.
“It’s a very emotional track, very watery, about feeling drowned in the conviction of love”.
Front and center is the hauntingly beautiful vocals of Christina. It is a collection of wraiths, draped in black shimmer, slowly and purposefully, dictating auras beyond our reach. But ultimately, it helps us succumb to new feelings of doom, with the promise of the possibilities of a new start.
‘Descend’ is a poetic climb down that rabbit hole, with an utter and redeeming quality towards self preservation through that path of knowledge.
It’s quite a stir, indeed.
