‘Next Automated Wave’ from LUNA NEPTUNE‘s sophomore EP released in July 2018, is itself an order of a different kind of leopard. The brooding single of torrents of radiating and pulsing sounds receives a deserved visual.
Filmed with director Gilad McAteer, the video’s focus is a mysterious robot, on a journey of remembrance, punctuation, and discovery. The psyche-pop single, driven by staggered timing and notes that reverberate through your core, the visionary decor is given the shimmeringly satisfying treatment.
The song is LUNA NEPTUNE’s reaction to the ‘rise of Internet bots, and the online radicalisation of young white men’. A very powerful and cultural statement of reason and call-to-arms against radicalisation, Luna delves deep into the rise of the alt-right. A political movement which has been driven further stoked by fears of job losses due to AI/robotics, and the fears of immigrants living and entering the nation.
Luna doesn’t want hate to rule the day. And in ‘Next Automated Wave’ her call for ‘compassion and accountability, over hatred and self-delusion’ wins.
She strikes to seek out untold truths.
With 2 EP’s released the Scottish artist continues to wow with artistic ambitions that refuse to be content. With folk music at the base of her craft, she easily soaks in her environment, and paints chapters with both critical and pop-friendly attributes.
Luna;s music is cemented with a lyrical prowess that is second-to-none, with bold strokes and gallantry. She strikes to seek out untold truths and sheds light in the darker corners of existence, otherwise under-served.
