Seductive darkness of Voodoo Beach’s single ‘Angst’ is dreary and vibrant at the same time. The contrast of the vocals to the downtrodden ‘angst’ of the instrumentals and their pace, pushes the agendas of trepidation in a different color coat of hue.
‘Angst’ is a kind of ‘b-side’ to the band’s single ‘Desolat’. Recorded in the same session in June, the band puts vibe first and then some. The psyche rock pertinence is doused in the modernity of now, that gives off this fabulous waft of gritty and fantastical fragrance.
‘Desolat’ was about “loneliness, without self-pity, and without beating oneself up about it.” ‘Angst’ is about “finding yourself in a crisis, and of living in a state of anxiety.”
Voodoo Beach is: Verita Vi (voice, guitar), Jon van Mono (bass, backing vocals), Ignacy San (guitar) and Josephine O (drums).
They will kick your ass, then conquer your ass, then continue to mess you up in the most decadent way.
Let’s get messed up with Voodoo Beach.
Voodoo Beach’s debut EP was ‘Ozean’ in 2018 – available now.
