Lyrical and spoken word beauty of Wallish washes over you. A subversive warmth of grit and palpable angst, is a slap of reality from a heart that wants to see, hear, experience it all for all. A pang-ing of hurt and frustrations, fold inconspicuous maladies, into a sum of all that is inspiring.
A quest for the hurt. A journey that has to be.
Said Wallish: “I found myself in where I had come through addiction and mental illness and made it out on the other side. After moving back home, going through treatment, and learning the basic life skills I missed out on in my younger adult life, I found myself ready to spread my wings and start my own, independent, adult life – but so scared to do so. But it is time. And that is the place Cry came out of.
A defying anthem for rising up against all odds, ‘Cry’ is Wallish’s debut single and her biggest shout at the seldom fair world that surrounds our depths. It’s a declaration for independence, of personal misgivings, external savagery, and injustice of the heart.
But there’s no defeat here. ‘Cry’ is of ultimate triumph. A quest for good and all.
Look for more from Wallish.
