Web Rumors Shares ‘IOUs’. “Smile with glee and nostalgia.”

From their debut album ‘Audio Video Disco’ (out now), WEB RUMORS puts on a show with the single ‘IOUs’. The blasting-ly zen jazz-cultured smoothness from the single, takes pop, electronica, and new wave to a distinct place.
Frontwoman Em Burrows speaks about ‘IOUs’: “It’s my little homage to Sade who was an artist my dad loved and played lots in our house growing up. I love the 80s studio percussion – congas, chimes etc – so I really wanted to use them in this track. The main synth is a Yamaha DX7 which was also a classic 80s synth. The song itself is a reflection on a significant relationship in my life where I felt like I was always being asked to give to someone I loved and it just became so difficult to keep doing it but I didn’t know how to tell the person.”

The Perth Australia based band, has been climbing up their fan’s thirst for emotions, and hasn’t stopped since their formation. The soft and strong, vibrant, underpinnings of ‘IOUs’ square right with the notion that playful instigation and tangible songwriting can make you smile with glee and nostalgia.

See the band next on August 31st Mojos Bar Fremantle.
