Wilma Archer has shared ‘Cures And Wounds’. A song that is inspired by Archers’ spent time in Northumberland and in the small fishing village he grew up.
“The song is about the life of fishermen in Northumberland. The percussive metallic bowl sound, is a bowl where I used to keep my bananas – but it was chosen because it reminded me of the metallic fastenings to the masts of the boats, bobbing in the harbour. ‘Cures and Wounds’ lyric describes a fisherman’s resolve and ability to make a quick fix of a bigger problem.”
Single is available now.
‘Cures and Wounds’ follow ‘Like A Hunger ft. Amber Mark’.
The jazz infused instrumental extravaganza is all assuming, all consuming, and delicate to the touch. Listen, close your eyes, the decadence is pervasive and the silky 80’s hinting solos evoke the non-partial absolutism in the flexible of musical arts.
It’s refreshing, daring, and is a high kick to the back of the head.
