Electronic, moody, jazz-pop of Your Girl Pho, delivers with beats that just gets your juices flowing.
With big vocals, and telling lyrics, the subjects of Your Girl Pho is a concept of diametrically opposing similarities of and in life.
‘Don’t Wanna’ plays on the concept of answering and worshiping no-one but yourself, “see me at the top – don’t tell me what’s up”. It dallies into thoughts of God as a woman, what it means to identify as a feminist in the current social climate, and how these ideas can interweave and be completely alienating to one another.
She delivers drawing on the styles of contemporary storytelling with the almost spoken word verses contrasting against the powerful anthem of the chorus which draws images of women in protest.
