‘Agog’ is the upcoming debut album from Danish indie quintet Yune. Recorded and mixed with producer Nis Bysted (Thulebasen, Iceage),

‘Odd One Out’ is the lead single of the upcoming debut album ‘AGOG’ from Danish quintet Yune. In keeping with the desert imagery of the album, a solid bass groove sets the pace; chugging away at a slight (vari-)speed like a steam train through the American Midwest.

Everything sounds at once morosely atmospheric and cool. The intro lead guitar sears through the soundscape, leaving you with the aural equivalent of retinal afterimages.

Erlend Eggestad and Nikolaj Bugge’s guitars whirl around and through each other like a dust devil across the desert floor, combining Tuareg sleight and a blockier/linear Western sensibility. Synthesizers shimmer like heat in the air, while bassist Mads Flethøj Ege and drummer Tobias Andreassen create a rolling, heavy backbone – a motion that feels as if navigating treacherous ground.

Yune’s ‘Odd One Out’ is submissive, in the most majestic. Rolling on a hill of ups and downs, the band fashionably glitters, with plenty of cheer and awe.
